Zach is the School Coordinator for the School of tv Relations and Diplomacy and is always available to help. Zach is an AAU alumni who graduated with his B.A. in tv Relations and is currently completing a master’s degree at Charles University in tv Relations.

As the SIRD School Coordinator, Zach works with exchange and transfer students by assisting with any of their needs in the office, but he is also available to help degree seeking students as well. He also can advise students on life in Prague if needed, as he has gone through the same path as them.

Dr. Libor Lukášek is the chair of the International and European Legal Studies Department at AAU, a former top manager, independent consultant/advisor, and university lecturer, specializing in international law and its impacts.

Lukášek graduated from the following institutions:

  • Prague University of Economics and Business, Faculty of tv Relations (2007)
  • Prague University of Economics and Business, Faculty of Economics (2002)
  • Masaryk University (Brno), Faculty of Law (1997)
  • Masaryk university (Brno), Faculty of Education (1997)

Lukášek started his career in the International Law Department of the Ministry of Defence and later became an advisor for three ministers of Czech government. He worked in top management positions for key Czech state institutions and corporations and was responsible for strategy, strategy development, international relations and management of property holdings.

Additionally, Lukášek was a member of the statutory and control bodies of many strategic important joint-stock companies. As the head of a negotiation team, he made a significant contribution of 5% stake acquisition in the Transalpine pipeline companies from Shell Deutschland in 2012 for the Czech state. This extraordinary transaction resulted in a significant strengthening of the energy security of the Czech Republic. He designed the concept and was co-founder of International Association of Oil Transporters (IAOT) and was the first executive director and member of the board of directors.

In the academic and research area, in 2001, Lukášek received the Dean’s award for the best Ph.D. thesis at the Faculty of tv Relations, Prague University of Economics and Business. He was a member of the editorial board of the International Politics Journal and vice-chairman of the Scientific and Pedagogical Council of the Institute of Economics at Charles University. Lukášek has published multiple materials oriented to international law, energy security, foreign policy, and geopolitics and is a member of the Czech Society for International Law.

Additionally, he lectured for the Jan Masaryk Centre for International Studies at the Faculty of tv Relations, Prague University of Economics and Business and at the Institute of Economic Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University.

Magdaléna is Assistant Dean for the School of tv Relations and Diplomacy and is always ready to assist students and faculty with any of their academic and administrative needs.

Before joining the team at Anglo-American University, she gained valuable experience in various administrative and managerial roles, both in her hometown of Prague and during her four-year stint in London.

Magdaléna is also an experienced English-to-Czech translator, with a portfolio that includes several literary works. She holds a master’s degree in Anglophone studies from Metropolitan University Prague and a bachelor’s degree in English language education from Masaryk University.

When not in the office, Magdaléna can be found either reading or pursuing a variety of creative hobbies, such as painting or sewing—although her endeavors may yield mixed results.

At AAU, George Hays, II has been both Chair of tv Relations and Permanent Lecturer since 2016. He teaches courses in American Foreign Policy in Film, East Central European Politics, War Studies, Introduction to tv Relations, Thesis Seminar. Outside of the classroom, George Hays is the main organizer for the monthly event, Professors in the Pub, as well as co-organizer for the annual ‘Roundtable in Anglo-American Studies’ at AAU. Also, he, alongside the team at AAU, has recently received the Visegrad Fund Grant for the project ‘Comparing Responses to the COVID-19 Pandemic: Alternative Leadership Styles in the V4‘.

Zuzana is the Assistant Dean for the School of tv Relations & Diplomacy as well as a lecturer. She is the main point of contact for students of tv Relations for academic affairs and teaches Introduction to Politics, China in Global Politics, and Asia in tv Relations. Her main area of research, at the moment, is China, and Asia more broadly, and she is happy to advise students´ theses concerning these fields. 

Zuzana has previously worked in education and event management at international conferences and majored in diplomacy and international relations with a focus on the UK in the Czech Republic and France. She finds work in an academic environment meaningful and personally rewarding. Outside of the university, Zuzana is mostly passionate about mountains and books, her preference for either depending on the weather.
